The secondary characters were good, though some of them I knew better than the 2nd MC. As I mentioned before Philip Alces nailed all the accents and really put the listener in a great frame to appreciate this story/time in place. The writing was really good and as far as I could tell so was the editing. I also hope that, since so much time went into world building, we’ll see more from this world in the future. Keep Jasen and the sex scenes chaste or give us some hot smexy times! I never read the “short version” and only listened to this, so I can’t compare, but I really do wish we’d seen more from Rilvor’s POV. Maybe that’s hypocritical – but my own taste would have been keep to one theme or the other. I didn’t love that Jasen was a “slut” before we got to meet Rilvor and the steam factor in this is so low. I did love the premise – Cinderella with dragons. but it was wonderful!) However, I didn’t love this story. First let me say, that I will absolutely be looking for this author in the future and second, that I had no idea Philip Alces had that accent (his own? Dunno.

Those included social media accounts and posts as well as a patch on his chest that read “RWDS,” an acronym for the phrase “Right Wing Death Squad,” which is popular among right-wing extremists and white supremacy groups. While cautioning that the investigation has just begun, law enforcement sources told the outlets that Mauricio Garcia, identified as the gunman, had links to that ideology. ALLEN, Texas − Authorities are looking into whether the gunman who killed eight people at a suburban Dallas outdoor mall showed an interest in white supremacist and neo-Nazi views, and if those provided a motive for the weekend attack, The Associated Press and CNN reported Sunday. 6/10/2023 0 Comments Never caught bookEvery six months he sent the slaves back down south just as the clock was about to expire,” the press release explains. It didn’t matter how hard my mom fought, or what she thought she was capable of. Tears filled her eyes, blurring her vision. A fighting one, and my mom, she had that.” The doctor had told me that a good state of mind would help. I was by her side, and even when she was having an off day, she still made me get in front of that camera and share my food with the world. Nothing, and then all of a sudden, she was given this hard reality check where something was going to indeed happen to her mother. Verity remembered sitting in that doctor’s office and feeling like her world was ending. She had started to shake, a little unnerved by the memories. She just looked at the doctor and said, ‘Right, how do I fight this thing? What do I do?’ Me? I was falling apart. “Even when we got the diagnosis, she didn’t cry. “Don’t forget to eat your bread,” Hector said. 6/9/2023 0 Comments I must betray you reviewThe chapters were surprisingly short, yet that actually made the larger story more approachable. Readers might want to consider themselves warned on that count. Likewise, it doesn’t shy away from the graphic nature of the events that occurred in 1989. It is brilliant, tense, and incredibly emotional. I Must Betray You very much lives up to the high expectations readers like to have. It is impossible to do anything other than feel for the characters in her story, as it feels like we’re transported in time, only allowed to watch the story as it unfolds. I don’t know how Ruta Sepetys does it, but her work is always so beautifully (and painfully) emotional and human. “This never knowing, it weakens us,” Bunu would say. Or he can lay down his life-neither sound appealing. Now, he must become an informer, which requires him to betray everyone and everything he loves. This worry compounds when Christian finds himself on the raw end of blackmail. Instead, he’s worried for his family, friends, country, and future. Christian Florescu is a seventeen-year-old kid who should be spending his time worried about normal teenage stuff. We all know the writing will be spectacular and thus hit us right in the feels as always. Why? Ruta Sepetys’ last novel absolutely wrecked me, so I had to prepare myself for this latest novel emotionally. I’ll confess: I put off reading I Must Betray Youfor a couple of months. Warnings: Torture, hunger, control, betrayal, gore Competitive Darcy then ruins her own relationship with her obsession over her ex-best friend and ex-fiancé, driving Marcus to flee the relationship. “Something Blue” follows Darcy who is now pregnant and living with Marcus, the man she cheated on her ex-fiancé with. “Something Blue” picks up where “Something Borrowed” ends. In “Something Borrowed,” the readers follow Rachel’s journey of love and Giffin teaches you all about flawed friendships and following your heart. “Something Blue” by Emily Giffin is one of those books.Ī sequel to the truly amazing “Something Borrowed,” a book about two best friends, one that the readers are made to love, Rachel, and one that is a self-centered, egotistical, mean character that the readers are supposed to dislike, Darcy. Every once in a while a person starts a book that makes them just want to throw it across the room instead of finishing it.
